- November 8, 1774: Solomon Turpin (along with Edward Carvin, Moses Higgenbotham, John Henley and Henry Smith) were ordered to view the several ways from Robert Caldwell's near Craigs Creek Mountain / Potts Creek Mountains to Sweet Springs.
